Southern Organisation for Action in Rural Areas




SOAR is the delivery agent for Axis 3 of the Northern Ireland Rural Development Programme (NIRDP) 2007 – 2013 – Rural Life. The Partnership will deliver funding for projects in eligible rural areas within Craigavon Borough Council, ArmaghCity and District Council and Newry and Mourne District Council


SOAR will open for applications on Thursday 31st January 2013 under the following measures:

3.1. Farm Diversification

3.5 Village Renewal and Development (Phase 3) in Craigavon Borough Council and Newry    & Mourne Council areas only

The closing date for applications under this call is Thursday 28th March 2013 at 4.00pm. Along with the completed application the following supporting information must be provided by this deadline;

  1. Evidence of match funding
  2. Completed Financial Projections for 5 years
  3. Evidence of planning approval (if required)

Where a project is deemed eligible and requires a Greenbook Economic Appraisal (those projects with total public funding totalling over £250k) this should be submitted by 30th April 2013. This will be at the applicants own expense.
