The Newry, Mourne and Down District Council comes into being on 1st April 2015.From this date all requests for Financial Assistance (Voluntary Contributions), will be made by way of application to the Council. It is anticipated that the Council may issue a number of calls for applications throughout the year. A first call for applications for the 2015/16 has been issued.

This is the first call for applications seeking funding up to a maximum of £5,000 under the following programmes:

  • Sports Development
  • Community Support Programme (including small scale Environmental Schemes)
  • Major/Minor events and festivals (including Christmas Illumination Events 2015)
  • Economic Development and Tourism
  • Culture (including Arts, Museum, Irish Language and Ulster Scots)
  • Summer Play Schemes
  • Small Grants (up to £250)

If you have a project to be delivered in the 2015-2016 period under one of these

programmes please take this opportunity to apply.

Information Workshops

There are a series of information workshops relating to this funding which run from 7.30pm – 9.30pm and will take place on:

Wednesday 10th December 2014 – Sean Holywood Arts Centre, Newry

Monday 15th December 2014 – Crossmaglen Community Centre, Crossmaglen and Downpatrick Civic Centre, Downpatrick

Tuesday 6th January 2015 – Warrenpoint Town Hall, Warrenpoint and Market House, Ballynahinch

Tuesday 13th January 2015 – Kilkeel Leisure Centre, Kilkeel And The Lodge, Castlewellan
