Aim of the programme:
To improve the health and wellbeing of rural dwellers in Northern Ireland by increasing access to services, grants and benefits.
The MARA project will proactively target the vulnerable households in identified rural communities using a community development approach.
Seeking to also:
- Increase access to home improvement schemes
- Increase access to full Benefit Entitlement Checks
- Increase access to a range of local services
- Increase access to community transport
When & Where:
The programme will be running from Mid February 2012 to December 2012 and will be working within the following areas of Rural Banbridge:
Gilford, Rathfriland, Lawrencetown, Ballyward, Katesbridge, Gransha, Loughbrickland, Bannside and Quilly
How:
Our Rural Enablers will carry out individual household visits and complete a questionnaire which will be used to signpost households to relevant grants and services.
