Consultation Invite - Regeneration & Development Plan
HAVE YOUR SAY IN RELATION TO AN AMBITIOUS REGENERATION AND DEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE NEW COUNCIL AREA
The newly formed Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon (ABC) District Council has placed the regeneration and development of the area as one of its top priorities and is consulting widely to create an ambitious plan to drive the region’s future prosperity and economic growth.
The ABC council is the largest council area in terms of population outside of Belfast. There are considerable assets within ABC including a large manufacturing base, vibrant retail centres, beautiful towns and villages, a strong agricultural/rural tradition, natural assets including Lough Neagh, a committed community and voluntary sector and finally a strong cultural tourism product. These assets need to be developed further as part of the process of formulating a range of measures for the ABC Council to further strengthen the region’s economic and community potential at National, European and International levels.
The council has appointed a team led by Locus Management to develop the Regeneration and Development Plan. The multi-disciplinary team includes economic analysts, business, enterprise and skills experts and policy and planning specialists. The development of the plan is being informed by widespread engagement with a broad range of stakeholders from the public, private, community and voluntary sectors as well as residents of the ABC region.
As part of this process three consultative workshops have been organised and you are invited to attend and participate in any of the following:
ARMAGH – 23rd September 7.00-9.00pm @ Marketplace Theatre
CRAIGAVON – 24th September 2.30-4.30pm @ Craigavon Civic and Conference Centre
BANBRIDGE – 24th September 7.00-9.00pm @ Banbridge Enterprise Centre
These will provide an opportunity to hear a synopsis of the work to date and to more importantly have an input around the key emerging regeneration and development priorities for the ABC region.
If you wish to attend please can you confirm with Locus Management, 028 9560 8792 or email Ciaran@locusmgt.com by Mon 22nd Sept 2014.
